Paul's View Of
Christ's Church!

Paul, the Apostle, has an unwavering passion for the people of God who now gather in Ephesus as the Church of Jesus Christ. Inadvertently, however, much to Paul's great concern, the ethnic pride of the Jews has crept into this Church. Instead of their being intrigue with full acceptance of the Gentiles as members of the 'family of God', there is 'voiced to Paul' that there is enmity, alienation, and separation, to the point of shame, within the body. And this, much to Paul's disappointment, is occuring amongst those who call God 'Father'.

Paul, now becoming intensely grieved by the reports he has received, through sources not mentioned, writes to the Church adjouring them that they refocus on their common identity - the redemptive, sanctifying work of Christ accomplished by the shedding of blood on the cross - and begin the 'walk of unity' that God the Father desires.

The common base identity for Paul is three fold. Firstly, he refers to their common past - they were dead in their trespasses and sins. Secondly, they had a common redemption - before the foundation of the world was laid they were predestined unto eternal life as 'saints' through Jesus Christ. Thirdly, they have a common future - that they should be God's workmanship as 'new creatures in Christ' eminating the spirit of unity.

Through the messages provided, it is trusted that your heart will be 'warmed' to understand Paul's desire for the church to be ONE IN CHRIST.! Regardless of the variant denominational affiliations with which believers identify, to Paul, their identity, first and foremost, must be with Jesus Christ, the Head, the Chief Cornerstone, and Foundation of the Church. Anything less than this would be a fraudulent misrepresentation of the Church which Christ has made one by the tearing down of the walls of 'enmity' that could and would separate believers one from the other.

It is my strongest desire and prayer that you will grow in the "grace, knowledge and wisdom of Christ" so that you will know the inheritance of the saints - even eternal life into the ages world without end.
