Recongizing that the church's ministry needs to move beyond the sanctuary walls and carried to the 'highways and byways so tht the house of the Lord might be filled," Harvest Church encourages and participates in as many extension ministries as possible.

In so doing, fellow believers are helped and encouraged financially and spiritually, while the congregants of Harvest gain a broader insight into the 'family at large' who also love the Lord. These extension ministries include short term mission venture to Cuba, Romania, Hondouras and Mexico, senior care centres, senior housing centres, Alpha, and food hamper preparation.

Everything we do is an added focus of ministry and month to month God adds enriched blessings so that 'our joy in Him is more than complete.' As God told Elija, when he was in hiding from Jezebel, he must not be discouraged in the little he thinks he is accomplishing, for there are thousands more doing the work as he was. Through our extended ministries we are finding this to be true, and we are blessed!

Fleetwood Villa
Senior's Centre

Maple Ridge Senior Village

Twice a month Donna and Gordon visit Fleetwood Villa in Surrey. During the one hour worship service, usually held in the afternoon, seventeen to twenty-five residents join them for singing, testimonies, prayer, and a short devotional.
Regularly, after the service, the group meets for 'fellowship coffee' in the lounge. This often turns into a prolonged time of sharing of the goodness of the Lord, and at times
it is very hard for us to leave!
Those that regularly attend now have confidence to share their faith with others at the villa. For this we praise the Lord, and rejoice that we are part of this.

John and Lee-Anna Williams take charge of this ministry on the second & fourth Sunday of each month, and on the fourth Monday of each month.
Those that attend are elderly and are physically disabled. Regardless of their physical condition, they do love the Lord, and they do love listening to the hymns of the church as Lee-Anna leads them in singing with her accordian. John brings a short devotional, and, at times there is a time of sharing. Each visit turns out to be a special, unexpected blessing!
On the third Sunday of each month, they visit
Holyrood
Care Centre.

Short Term Mission Trips

Yearly, since 2007, short term mission trips have been done by a number of the congregants. Each trip has proved an enriched blessing as believers are visually acquainted with the work and the needs of their fellow workers around the world.
In February 2007 Donna did a three week visit to Cuba; in September to October 2007 Gordon & Donna visited Romania.
In April 2009, Deanna travelled to Bogota, Colombia to be with our missionaries, Russell and Marina Stendal, during their annual conference. This proved to be a real blessing as she was able to visit some of the poorer regions of the area and see God's intervention through the gospel.During the July 2009 Ted Stoll visited Hondouras on a 'Church/Camp Construction Project' ministry. A real blessing for Donna was the opportunity in October to travel with Brian Lise, Director of Eurovangelism, to Albania, Romania, and Hungary. During this trip she, again, saw many lives changed because of the preaching of the gospel. Along with this, she personally was awakened to the spiritual rebirth still needed in the lives of many people who have not yet found Christ as Saviour and Lord.

Community Seminars

Because Harvest an intense desire to see others come to a knowledge of Christ as Saviour and Lord, we attempt, yearly, to present community interest seminars. For the past three years, from February 14 to April 16, we have presented Alpha.
Although there has not been any great numerical increase in attendance, we have had occassion to present the gospel to a varied group of people.
In 2008, for example, a Buddhist woman attended every session except one. Her comment, as the seminar concluded, "I'm beginning to understand the Bible, and I'm going to continue reading it."
In 2009, during Alpha, we had a number who visited occssionally. We are delighted to present this program because we know that as we are faithful planting the 'good seed of the gospel, God will allow others to water it, and He will bring about the increase.
Along with Alpha, this year in the fall, we presented the Money Master Seminar which encouraged attendees to become 'stewards of financial resources towards econmic sustainability' based on biblical precepts. Approximately fifteen people registered. Most exciting was the fact that
one couple was aided in cutting one expense of seventy-thousand dollars down to nine thousand. But, they also were introduced to Christ as Saviour, and we praise the Lord in this.
